The hurry risks to burn the Bloc Party

The Critique.

Anxious to surprise the Bloc Party, to distance of an only year and a half from the publication of "To Weekend in the city", you/they have published the new job Intimacy on internet (mindful of the experiment of "In Rainbows" of the Radioheads) two months before the exit of the cd on the shelves. Appropriate movement, because idea has picked up many consents and the boys you/they have gotten the visibility that you/they looked for showing to understand as the complicated car of the showbiz it works.

Reached this objective the band it has however centered only partly that following, or rather to give a turn to the proper sound. If the leader Okelele has always declared to adore the band of Thom Yorke and the experimentations, in the practice the change of rout has not been so clean and the result was not able whether to be a compromise among the old one and the new one. An experiment succeeded therefore to half, because with Intimacy the group doesn't succeed in making to coincide the electronic turn with that explosive position that had characterized the debuts of it.

You travels among pieces that ride the wave of the change as "Ares" and "Mercury", that they feed some rhythm of the gone crazy boxes typical of the Big Beat to the Chemical Brothers, but passages that could originate from the old course as the convincing one don't miss "Halo" and good examples of as the deep voice of Okelele has not stopped building his/her unforgettable melodies ("Better Than Heaven"). Instead the rest doesn't shine as it would owe and he/she introduces us a tired band, that seems to have lost I enamel him/it and the freshness of songs as "Helicopter" and "The Still Remember."

He/she is however difficult not to appreciate the appointment with which the group lavishes him to find alternative streets to the roads traced in past, for which it needs to give the time to the Bloc Party to write with calm this new chapter of their musical adventure, hoping that in the future can give us more charming and interesting episodes. The main point is that the four learns the lesson and understands whether to look aloft toward more illustrious colleagues the risk is that to burn too much in hurry..
