The biography. Peter Doherty is born to Hexham, Northumberland, England, on March 12 1979.
From good student qual is, it brightly begins the university studies. To 16 it wins a contest of poetry and part for a trip to Russia organized by the British Council. The university in Oxford is admitted to for a course of degree in English, but it surrenders the course a first year of studies.
After having left the university it establishes him in an apartment in London with Carl Barât, with which it is tied up from a great relationship of friendship. The couple forms the band The Libertines at the end of the years '90, even if the first album Up the Bracket sees only the light in the 2002.
The group gets a good comparison both from the criticism and from the public but the problems of Doherty with the drug they bring him/it to the leaving from the band. Later one year is arrested and imprisoned to have stolen a guitar in the apartment proper of the friend Carl Barât, while this was found in tour with the Libertineses. The tour of the band is often twisted by the continuous legal problems of Pete Doherty: once Pete is arrested for having attacked Max Carlish a director that was producing a documentary on the Babyshambleses. In April it begins the darkest period in the career of Pete. The English tabloids obsessively interest him in the relationship of Doherty with the model Kate Moss. This door Pete to skip the musical career more and more: when the Babyshambleses had to support the Oasis for a concert, Pete he doesn't introduce because it was found with Kate Moss to a party in France. As a result, the Oasis cancel the support of the Babyshambleses for the remainders given of the tour. In August of 2006 the Babyshambleses sign a contract with the Parlophone, with which The Blinding EP realize, in December of 2006, welcomed with good enthusiasm by the criticism.
After some years of silence and continuous problems with the drug and with Kate Moss, January 13 th 2009 the site of the magazine NME announces the news of the release, on following March 16, of the soloist album of Doherty, entitled Grace / Wastelands, launched by the single one "Last of the English Roses."
