|  | The Kasabians are a British band of alternative rock that has his/her roots to Blaby and Countesthorpe, near Leicester. The name of the group derives from Linda Kasabian a member of the sect of Charlon Manson (note as "The Manson Family"). Kasabian in Armenian butcher also means. The initial components of the group are known in the same high school. The leaders of the group are two: Tom Meighan, singer and Serge Pizzorno, guitarist composer of the texts of the songs. The group was completed by the guitarist and multistrumentista Christopher Karloff and from the bassista Chris Edwards. To the beginnings of their musical adventure they decide to live together in a farm, where besides playing they devote their time to the listening of the disks of group what the The Who, the Beatleses, the Super Furry Animals, the Blackaliciouses, and besides Dj Shadow and the Neus!. In 2003 theirs engrave first individual "Processed Beats", produced by Jim Abbiss and subsequently publican in sequence "Reason Is Treason", "Club Foot" and "L.S.F. (Lost Souls Forever)"; finally in September of 2004 theirs launch first album "Kasabian" that he/she will almost sell a million copies. The good success of public and criticism it brings the band in tour in Europe, where their style makes them become one of the principal emergent bands of that year. Their sound is so appreciated that in 2005 they participate in the tour of " Don't Believe the Truth" as group shoulder of the Oasis that they are declared estimators. The band meanwhile it widens with a new element, the drummer Ian Matthews, but in the 2006 Karloff it abandons the group. Immediately after the exit from the band of Karloff the their goes out according to job "to Fill" of which big part of the songs they have been recorded in the turn of five weeks. This job marks a turn toward more sonority to the fashion, even if the influence of groups as the Led Zeppelin results evident (especially in the single one "Shoot the Runner"). | |
