At the end of him of the years '80, in the town of Orange County, in the county in Los Angeles, Dexter Holland, Greg Kriesel puts the bases on the project that he/she will take the name as "The Offspring." In the first period the band makes him call Manic Subsidal but in the turn of little time he/she sees many alternations among the components of the group up to the arrival of Noodles to the guitar and Ron Welty to the battery (in 2003 you/he/she is replaced by Josh Frese). In 1989 they make their first record cha it has for title the same name of the band - And' been born the punk - Californian rock. In 1990 the Ep goes out later Baghdad and two years he/she sees the lice Ignition, all recorded ones under independent label. Two years later the group of Dexter Holland it breaks down the wall of the 11 million of copies sold with the second album "Smash" (14 million in total). And' the moment of the world fame and the The Offspring taste the taste to sign for a major, setting so the bases for a rich and rosy future. The expectations put back by the fans are a lot of and initially the Californian band doesn't succeed in confirming the goodness of the debuts.
With "Ixnay on the shades", the four doesn't succeed in also proposing the success of the their according to disk receiving a good succession of sold copies however. Do they make center, instead, with "American" (10 million copies), sixth job in study of the band that the Offspring bring to tall commercial levels, thanks to the throwing of some phenomenal individuals as "Pretty fly (for to white guy)" and "Why don't you get to job?". In 2000 it is the time of "Conspiracy of one" (5 million copies), launched by the single one "Original Prankster" but that he/she doesn't succeed in giving that rush that "Pretty Fly" it gave to American.   In 2003 it goes out "Splinter", for a long time announced with the title, then abandoned, of "Chinese democracy." In this disk there is drummer Josh Freese's (Vandals, To Perfect Circle) presence that temporarily Ron Welty replaces, in break of reflection. Subsequently and after varied tests to numerous aspirants, its place is taken by Atom Willard, ex-Rocket From The Crypt. "Splinter" he/she sees the sales of the group fall and to stay to a million and a half of copies. In 2008 the last work of the band "and fall Laughed, rage and grace" that he/she sees them return to the footlights with the their true sound skate .punk of the origins that has made them famous to the whole world. A job that has had a long pregnancy: over two years.
