Scotland. Earth of castles castled on sweets hills that sour battles have lived; earth of the monster of Lochness and the perennial maltempo; earth of Gary Lightbody and his/her Snow Patrol. Eh already, because the British group has returned and you/he/she has done him with "To Hundred Million Suns", fifth job of the band.
To two year-old distance from "Eyes Open", able to sell 1 million copies in UK and more than 1 million in USA, waited us for a' important confirmation. And, to our opinion, doesn't is not delay to arrive.
These last Snow Patrol would have everything to finally be considered of the great ones: "To Hundred Million Suns" as the last step can be labeled for arriving to deserves her/it celebrity, the perfect creature to catapult the band to an unanimous acclamation. Perhaps a miliary stone of the rock will become never, but it is without doubt a valid album, that results pleasant to the listening, without frills and starts of humor.
There is to say, to onor of the truth, that the aggressive rock of the precedents album leaves space to more songs soft and from the more relaxed rhythms. The passages, in fact, slip away as they were tied up from an invisible thread conductor. In effects, what strikes of this disk, is the unbelievable semplicità.di those that you/they remain engraved, however.
The intense voice of Gary Lightbody excites as much as the melodies and the accurate and punctual arrangements.
The creativeness and the concreteness don't miss of certain to the Snow Patrol and it is noticed him/it in passages as the initial one "If there's to rocket tie to me it" or the single one that has preceded the album "Take back the city", where the scorribandes are narrated in that of Belfast (but with video turned in London). And whether to say of the exciting one "Crack the shutters", according to single, touching as "Chasing Cars", or of "Set down your glass" the real ballad of the album, that should be served under starry skies. After tastes of pop, the soul rock sees him in again "Disaster Button" and "Please Just Take These Photos From my Hands", linear and precise, as you/he/she has accustomed us the band of origin Irish North.
Ambitious it is the end with "The Lightning Strike", passage of 16 minutes essentially divided in three under-births, from the psychedelic beginning vaguely that then it flows in one natural continuation of his, with sought after sounds and in full style Snow Patrol.
"To Hundred Million Suns" you/he/she cannot certainly disappoint, rather. For many you/he/she can be considered a good follow-up of the marvelous one "Eyes open", for others you/he/she could simply represent the good disk of the band. Meanwhile, Gary Lightbody and the Snow Patrol enjoy him the number 2 in the classifications of the albums more sold in the United (100,330 copies sold in the first week) Kingdom and the ninth position in USA (63,258 copies).
The final auspice, is ours: we wish that also in Italy he starts to appreciate them. To see them live in our nation, has been almost till now impossibile.speriamo, that the things begin to change.
