You take the film "Paris, Texas" of Wim Wenders and you will have disclosed the arcane one. Travis, in fact it is not nient'altro that the name of the protagonist that it gives the name to the known group Scottish rock formed him to Glasgow. Everything is born in 1995 when three of the four actual official members of the band (Francis Healy, Andy Dunlop and Neil Primrose) decide to give life to the project. Travis also involving Douglas Payne.  Interesting it is the fact that Douglas had never played a tool. Schoolmates in the academy of art, after few years they are transferred in London. Their debut is marked by the Ep 1996 Good Feeling, a job that perfectly embodies the British vein of that period. Recorded in little days and product by Steve Lilywhite, the disk contains pieces what "Happy" and "Tied To The '90s", that conduct the album to enter the first ten positions of the English classification. The following year the Traves begin to think about their next album with the aid of Nigel Godrich. In 1999 the Traves publish the their according to disk, THE Hand WHO. The title is taken back by the book of Oliver Sacks The Hand Who Mistook His Wife for to Hat (The man that exchanged his/her wife for a hat). The book speaks of the perceptive troubles to the people. Does THE Hand WHO, receive a great success of public and criticism so much to get six disks of platinum thanks to some admirable and fabulous songs as "Why does it always rain on me?" and "Writing to reach you." In June 2001, always under the production of Nigel Godrich, the Traves realize THE INVISIBLE BAND, recorded in the famous study of recording Ocean Way in Los Angeles. 2002 is the most difficult year for the band to cause of drummer Neil Primrose accident, that during a Tour in France for a little he/she doesn't drown in the swimming pool of the hotel, plunging himself/herself/itself of head in the tub filled only for half and it has different fractures to the vertebral column. Subsequently Neil will take back him completely from this accident. The year later 12 MEMORIES goes out. The album is produced by the same Traves, Tchad Blake and Steve Orchard and him it differentiates from the precedents for the thematic politics and social face. From 12 Memorieses three individuals go out: King-Offender, The Beautiful Occupation and Love Will As Through. The Beautiful Occupation has been written by Healy the terrorist attacks of September 11 shortly after 2001. Before then Healy you/he/she was always declared "apolitical", but the 2001 events have changed its way to think. In 2004 the collection SINGLES is published. The Traves return with some unpublished material in 2007 with THE BOY WITH No NAME, from which the single one is extracted "Closer." February 18 th 2008 the band has returned in study to record its sixth album he/she Hears TO J. Smith, gone out to end September.
